Course Objectives:

Trauma / SUD training: Participants will learn ways they can help someone who is relying on substances to cope and resources that are available to assist those in need

1. Understand what Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) are and the impact they have on substance use.

2. Recognize how we can recognize and work with discomfort in our lives and not need substances to cope.

3. Gain knowledge and resources available to assist those in need. COurse Description:

Course Description:

Trauma / SUD training:  Taking a look at the link between untreated trauma and the potential for substance use. This presentation will dive into the things that make this a likely outcome (ACEs) and ways that we can recognize and work with our pain and discomfort in order to not need outside substances to cope. We will also explore how you can help someone who is relying on substances and the resources that are available to assist those that are in need. 

Timed Agenda:

9:00am - 10:00 am Discuss the impact of ACES and trauma with substance use; how to recognize warning signs of trauma and people suffering from discomfort and relying on substances to cope. Also, explore resources and support to help those in need.
