Course Description:
This presentation will discuss the basics of motivational interviewing when assessing adolescents struggling with substance use to explore their ambivalence and their intrinsic motivation to change. It will also examine the difference between experimental use and misuse, both of which are crucial for effective prevention and intervention strategies. Finally, there will be conversation to help understand your own bias as a clinician when working with adolescents using or misusing substances
