Confrontation Avoidance Techniques Training

(3.0 CE Hours)

This is a highly interactive, thought provoking course, based upon principles from the Community Health Train the Trainers training, designed to cover the learning objectives while assisting participants in examining their day to day interventions with consumers and assess whether their interactions are likely to either escalate or deescalate the possibilities for conflict and violent confrontations. Emphasis in the training is placed on being thoughtful rather than reactive, on good and careful treatment planning / programming, on anticipating possible conflicts, on always treating consumers with dignity & respect, on team involvement and team communication, on legal / ethical considerations, on post intervention activities: including debriefing, decompressing and complete documentation.
