Topic I:  Integrated Treatment for Co-Occurring Mental Health and Substance Use Disorders
 
Learning Objectives:
  • Understand and learn how the SAMHSA-endorsed Integrated Dual Disorders Treatment (IDDT) model has advanced the development of co-occurring disorder (COD) services in Michigan, and its limitations.
  • Become aware of how the newer Dual Diagnosis Capability in Addictions Treatment (DDACT) and Dual Diagnosis Capability in Mental Health Treatment (DDCMHT) are the strategy-of-choice for advancing COD services.
  • Identify and understand what constitutes a co-occurring disorder.
  • Understand the importance of integrated treatment for co-occurring disorders and how integrated treatment leads to better outcomes.
  • Learn to implement an integrated plan of service to help consumer's achieve recovery.
