Training Description:
Participants will participate in interactive discussions, sharing experiences, observations, treatment development and conclusions throughout a PowerPoint presentation lead by a Master’s ACT nurse who will address the multiple roles and responsibilities of the ACT Team Nurse including direct service, medications management, doctor-team liaison, and integration of this role into the team and community setting.
Learning Objectives:
Upon completion of this training participants will be able to:
1. Identify the multiple roles with the related responsibilities of ACT RNs 2. Identify three direct service interventions 3. Identify three medication management strategies 4. Identify three liaison for doctor-team techniques 5. Identify multiple ways to integrate into team and community settings.
6. Identify three educational techniques to inform consumers and families about disease processes and treatment strategies.
7. Identify three educational techniques to inform ACT staff members about medication management strategies.
Who Should Attend: This training contains content appropriate for administrative and executive leadership, clinicians and social workers at all levels of practice and registered nurses.

Continuing Education for Nurses: The course has been awarded a total of 5.75 nursing contact hours by the Michigan Public Health Institute-Continuing Education Provider Unit (MPHI-CEPU). MPHI-CEPU (OH-320, 06/01/16) is an approved provider of continuing nursing education by the Ohio Nurses Association (OBN-001-91), an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation. Course #2015-208; Expires 3/20/2017. This course is provided through a Joint Provider Agreement between Michigan Public Health-Continuing Education Provider Unit and MACMHB.
Evaluation: There will be an opportunity for each participant to complete an evaluation of the training and the instructor. Certificate Awarded: At the conclusion of this training, bring your CEU verification form to the MACMHB Staff to be initialed. You will turn in the top sheet and retain the bottom sheet which serves as your certificate of participation.
