Event Description/Learning Objectives:  -- Increase understanding of Native culture including important issues such as identity, eye contact, use of traditional medicines and Medicine Wheel Teachings.

-- Learn about the impact of boarding schools and other realities of historical trauma

-- Understand key implications of the Indian Child Welfare Act (ICWA)

-- Participate in a talking circle and /or other Native cultural experiences

-- Challenge stereotypes and misconceptions about American Indian People

-- Gain knowledge of Native focused issues and learn about services available statewide and regionally

-- Learn strategies for providing quality programs and services with Native populations
   
Per Person Cost for Event: $10 (A $40 value made possible by a grant from the Administration for Native Americans)
