Presents: Self-Care While We Care for Others

Quarterly meetings with The Guidance Center (TGC) to promote self-care for mental health professionals within the

System of Care (SOC). These collaborations are through collective events and trainings related to trauma initiatives

in Wayne County.

Course Description:

Supporting others can be physically, emotionally, and spiritually draining. To rejuvenate, we will engage in a hands-on, fun activity that allows us to unwind and check in on our well-being. This will help us reconnect with ourselves and recharge, ensuring we return to our supportive roles feeling refreshed and balanced.

Course Objectives:

1) Spot signs of stress and burnout

2) Explore doable self-care strategies

3) Connect with and support peers

4) Make slime as a self-care reminder

Timed Agenda:

10:30 – 11:00 | Doable Self-Care Strategies

• Realistic, sustainable self-care practices
• Quick tools for busy workdays
• Small-group sharing of what actually works

11:00 – 11:30 | Peer Support & Connection

• Importance of support in preventing burnout
• Identifying peer resources
• Guided discussion on how to support one another

11:30 – 12:00 | Experiential Self-Care: Slime Activity

• Short grounding exercise
• Slime-making as a sensory self-care tool
• Reflection and personal takeaway

Registration / Walk-In Policy

Registration is required. Walk-ins WILL NOT be permitted. Register to ensure your attendance.

By joining us at this event, attendees consent to Detroit Wayne Integrated Health Network's Detroit Wayne Connect photographing, videotaping and using your image and likeness.

Registration Fees

If you work WITHIN Wayne County please dismiss the payment portion of the registration process and hit "submit".

If you work OUTSIDE of Wayne County there is a nominal $15.00 registration fee to attend this training. Please pay prior to your arrival by entering your credit card information when the registration process asks for it. You may also bring a company check or money order for the full amount with you to the registration table at the event as well. All checks/money orders can be made out to ‘DWIHN’. Receipts will be available upon request.

Cancellation Refund Policy

Substitutions are permitted at any time. No Shows will be billed at the same rate. Cancellations must be received in writing no later than 7 business days prior to the training to asmith1@dwihn.org in order to obtain a full refund. If cancellation is received less than 7 days prior to the training, no refund will be issued.
