1. Fundamentals of Alzheimer's Disease and the Symptoms of Dementia: This course is designed to help health care providers and supportive care workers understand the basic concepts of Dementia. 203,000 people aged 65 and older are living with Alzheimer's in Michigan. 9.5% of people aged 45 and older have subjective cognitive decline. This was 190,000 in 2019.
2. Conflict Management/Resolution Workshop: Conflicts in senior living facilities ranve from small misunderstandings to full-fledged flare-ups between staff members and even other residents.
3. Older Adults and Sexual Health Workshop: According to the Center for Disease Control's (CDC's) annual Sexually Transmitted Disease Surveillance Report, cases of several common sexually tansmitted infections (STI's) have reached historic highs among elderly populations in the U.S. including Chlamydia, Gonorrhea and Syphllis.

Registration Fees

If you work WITHIN Wayne County please dismiss the payment portion of the registration process and hit "submit".

If you work OUTSIDE of Wayne County there is a nominal $15.00 registration fee to attend this training. Please pay prior to your arrival by entering your credit card information when the registration process asks for it. You may also bring a company check or money order for the full amount with you to the registration table at the event as well. All checks/money orders can be made out to ‘DWIHN’. Receipts will be available upon request.

Cancellation Refund Policy

Substitutions are permitted at any time. No Shows will be billed at the same rate. Cancellations must be received in writing no later than 7 business days prior to the training to asmith1@dwihn.org in order to obtain a full refund. If cancellation is received less than 7 days prior to the training, no refund will be issued.
