Course Description:
Treatment Foster Care Oregon (TFCO) is a comprehensive and evidence-based program focusing on youth with serious problem behaviors and their families. The program was developed in Eugene, Oregon and created as an alternative to institutional, residential, and group care placement for youth with severe emotional and behavioral disorders. TFCO serves children age 7-11 in a Therapeutic Home trained in the TFCO model who have a family to return to after treatment. In this training, participants will learn about the TFCO model and how it is being implemented in southeast Michigan.
Course Objectives:
Participants will learn about the following:
1. History of Treatment Foster Care Oregon (TFCO);
2. Five Key Focus Areas of TFCO;
3. Description of Services; and
4. Description of Youth Served.
