Get Involved! Be the change you want to see in your community by becoming a Youth United Youth Advocate.
Who can be a Youth Advocate?
Youth who:- Are between the ages of 14-25
- Are residents of Wayne County
- Demonstrate Leadership Qualities
- Are interested in a positive change in their community
- Have received services in juvenile justice, public mental health, child welfare and/or special education
As a Youth Advocate you will:
- Participate in trainings to learn: Leadership skills, Public Speaking Skills, Group Facilitation skills
- Become a voice for youth receiving services in Wayne County public human services system
- Learn skills to train other youth and professionals
- Partner with decision makers and other youth to create policies and youth friendly services
- Attend Youth Groups
- Participate on the Youth Advisory Council
- Become a Lead Youth Advocate
- And much more!
